Office Assistant for Burnett Transit and Progressive Travel
This position has a large variety of duties. If you are a person who likes to do many different tasks - this position may be for you! There are some items that are consistent each day. For example, each weekday during the school year starts at 6:30 a.m. for the person who occupies this position it involves answering the phone calls that come in regarding students who may or maynot be riding school bus routes that day. Those messages must be relayed to the corresponding bus driver. Thus a pleasant telephone demeanor is a must - not to mention an early riser! Following those calls each morning the tasks for the day vary greatly based on the weekday, the week of the month, the month of the year and even the time of the day! We can explain more thoroughly in person but the job duties for this position follow the various tasks associated with operating a school bus company (Burnett Transit) and motor coach company (Progressive Travel). Prior to the beginning of the school year there is much preparation with school bus routes, route maps for drivers, producing tags that the young children will wear for the beginning of the school year, etc. Having computer knowledge is a must as many tasks assoicated with this position involves the use of a computer, from learning the routing programs we use for our school bus routes, to producing word documents and using power point - this position has many different facets to it. Working closely with the operations director and other office staff is imperative. On the Progressive Travel side of things there are also many duties. We do tours for special needs adults. Assisting with these tours is part of the job duties. These tasks include preparing the documents that are sent out to passengers, helping develop the tours, assisting with the production of the tour catalog that advertises the tours, plus many other related tasks.
