High-end Residential and Commercial Remodeling

Estimator/Project Manager

Overall responsibility is to estimate remodeling projects for prospective clients; estimate these projects from concept drawings and have a product that meets the customer’s needs, has a good value for the customers and their property, and generates a profit for the company.


Position Responsibilities


• When concept drawings are executed a preliminary estimate will be created to evaluate the construction costs.

• Work hand in hand with salesman to produce estimates and proposals based on client’s desires and information gathered from site visit.

• The preliminary estimate will be presented to the client. When the client approves pricing, the estimator will then finalize project costs with client selections, subcontractor quotes and production prices.

• This person is responsible for writing a detailed set of specifications and making sure all items are covered on construction contracts and drawings.

• The estimator will assist the designer with the completion of the construction drawings and have the client sign the final set for work.

• The estimator will be involved with the sales handoff with Project Manager, Lead Carpenter and client to iron out any final details.

• As a project progresses, the estimator will be responsible for estimating and returning any change orders required within a timely manner and treated with urgency.

• The estimator will assist production with identifying all special orders and allowance items and their required order date.

• If problems arise during the course of the job due to an interpretation of specifications, the estimator is responsible for working with production and the client to resolve them to everyone’s satisfaction.


Position Requirements


• Task/detail oriented

• Self-motivated and highly organized

• The ability to interact and communicate well with other employees, subcontractors and clients

• Extensive knowledge of house construction from foundation to finish components

• Good working knowledge of all trades

• A valid driver’s license and good driving record

• Good computer knowledge and software use

• Able to develop estimates using spread sheet type software
