Dining & Conference Services
St. Lawrence University has an opening for a full-time/seasonal, 9-month Cook in Dining & Conference Services. Under supervision of Leader, Assistant Managers and Managers the Cook is responsible for preparing food items according to documented recipes and monitors food quality throughout meal periods. The primary hours of work are 1:00 pm – 9:00 pm Wednesday – Sunday. Qualifications: High School diploma (or equivalent) required. Culinary training preferred. Serve-Safe training beneficial or ability to be certified within one year. Good mathematical skills. Minimum of one year full time experience in quantity hot food productions in a large scale food service operation required. Will consider successful completion of an externship or internship in quantity cooking in place required experience. Ability to read, understand and prepare items according to recipes; move 25 pounds a minimum of 10 feet; operate and maintain standard cooking machinery and equipment required.
