This position is responsible for maintaining machinery and facility as related to the fabrication of optical coatings. Performs preventative maintenance and troubleshoots equipment problems. Works closely with the production team to minimize equipment down-time.
- Performing preventative maintenance procedures on the following:
- Vacuum pumps
- Clean room
- Vacuum chambers
- Beadblasting equipment
- Ultrasonic cleaning equipment
- Troubleshoot and fix equipment problems. Off-shift if required.
- Control inventory of spare parts for the coating department
- Clean and maintain machinery and shop.
- Read and interpret blueprints, specification sheets and schematics.
- Create or revise work process instructions.
- Suggest changes to improve process, product, or morale within the company.
- Perform any other function required by the managing staff.
Requirements: Strong hands-on electrical and mechanical aptitude. Must be a team player. Experience with equipment control and/or programmable logic controller (PLC) programming, HVAC and plumbing is a plus.
Education: HS diploma or GED is required.
