Bookkeeper / Accountant / Office Administrator

Growing accounting firm in Embrun, Ontario looking for an Office Administrator/ Bookkeeper/Accountant

Summary of Position:

As an Office Administrator/ Bookkeeper/Accountant you are responsible for providing support to the accounting team. If you are recently enrolled in the CPA program of studies, this position is one that can grow with you.  In this position you will be responsible for the regular monthly remittances (payroll, WSIB, HST) of a list of clients. You will also be required to aid in the overall organization of the office including answering the phone, filing and ordering office supplies.

Qualifications & Experience:

·         1 year office administrative experience (experience in an accounting firm is highly valued but not essential)

·         Excellent skills in Microsoft Word and Excel

·         Basic accounting knowledge including bank reconciliations

·         Bilingual in French and English both written and spoken

·         Experience with Sage Accounting and QuickBooks considered an asset

·         Strong communication skills

·         Excellent attention to detail

·         Ability to work under pressure and independently

Key responsibilities:

·       Ensuring payroll remittances are received from clients and paid by the 15th of each month

·       Calculating, reporting and paying quarterly WSIB remittances

·       Monthly and quarterly bookkeeping for clients in both Sage and QuickBooks

·       Annual bookkeeping for clients in Sage, QuickBooks and Caseware

·       Answering the phone and reception duties

·       Liaise with clients to gather source documents for accountant’s work

·       Preparation/Printing of Year End Financial Statements/Corporate Tax Return/Covering Letter/Documents
