Systems Engineer IV

TITLE : System Engineer IV

LOCATION : Greenwood Village, CO

JOB SUMMARY : Perform root cause analysis of impacted component from overall order management architecture based on telecom domain knowledge and engage appropriate teams for quick resolution. Provide business analysis to IT Teams and suggest gaps in application functional behavior of production systems. Review code packages and upgrade steps for each release handed off from IT partners and provide estimated schedule for market go-live date. Perform impact analysis for each application upgrade implemented by other related teams. Implement and validate software upgrades and patches to provisioning systems. Create standardized documentation for all releases and track its implementation in ticketing systems. Assess risk and dependencies of maintenance and advise Analyst Team on escalated resolutions of single user tickets. Use monitoring solutions to confirm if reported issues are trending. Determine where failures originated for failed transactions using system logs. Create dashboards to show current system behavior and transactions with monitoring tools. Monitor system status on CPU, memory, storage, and other applications performance metrics. Request network connection requiring secured layer, coordinate with internal and external network teams and perform tests for verification. Install and upgrade monitoring tool and Operating system. Create alerts at appropriate levels for application and system performance monitoring. Debug and troubleshoot single customer issues using XML and XSD. Use Ericsson Order Care to identify application configuration gaps and provide solutions for changes. Install and set up monitoring tools and create dashboards using Splunk. Analyze and report on impact of production issues using SQL. Be on a 24x7 on-call rotation.

EDUCATION / REQUIREMENTS : Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electronics Engineering or a closely related field. Must have 3 years of experience with business support for voice provisioning orders to identify, analyze, escalate and provide the resolution for issues faced by application users. Must have 2 years of experience: debugging and troubleshooting single customer issues using XML and XSD; using Ericsson Order Care to identify application configuration gaps and provide solutions for changes; performing installation and setup of monitoring tools using SiteScope and creating dashboards using Splunk; and analyzing and reporting on impact of production issues using SQL.
