Hardware/Software Test Engineer

TITLE:Hardware/Software Test Engineer
LOCATION:Greenwood Village, CO
JOB SUMMARY:Responsible for documenting and executing formal test plans to ensure the delivery of quality products.Conduct test planning, and write manual and automate test cases/scripts and test execution. Conduct downstream testing in video and non-video platforms and architecture. Define and track quality assurance metrics, including defects, defect counts, test results, and test status. Perform quality audits across IT functions to ensure quality standards, procedures, and methodologies are met. Ensure alignment between business operational strategies and quality assurance of products. Develop, modify, enhance, and implement designs of test plans to support new or existing business initiatives. Determine manual test cases that are candidates for automation. Collect and analyze data for evaluating and improving software processes, and integrate improvements into business processes. Diagnose complex issues, evaluate, recommend, and execute appropriate resolutions. Perform triage, identify defects, and troubleshoot for the user interface (UI) of back-end and front-end systems. Script test scenarios using the automation tool’s UI test creator and basic scripting. Write automation scripts within the test management and control (TMC) framework for infrared blasters across IP platforms, including Roku, Xbox, Samsung TV, iOS, and Android. Use test management tools, including HPQC, Test Rail, Jira, and video troubleshooting. Implement and validate new platforms in development, quality assurance, and production environments. Manage moderate-to-high complexity projects, including IP-Apps for connected devices and World Box 2.0 implementation. Perform troubleshooting of provisioning, set-top box (STB) installation, video automation using tools, STB Guide validation, Hub validation, Video-on-Demand, Pay-per-View, CDVR, DVR, Live Streaming, Networking, Video and Data Services, Firmware and Device configurations, RFE and Device connectivity for Legacy Charter, Time Warner, and BHN markets and support applications. Deliver quality process training to technical staff and act as an internal quality consultant to advise business and technical partners. Triage for provisioning and billing in back-end and front-end user interfaces. Script test scenarios using user interface test creator and Python, Ruby, and Java. Perform Quality Process training and quality audits for coding standards on scripts written in Python, Ruby, and Java.
EDUCATION/
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. 7 years of experience with downstream testing in video and non-video platforms and architecture. 4 years of experience: writing automation scripts within the TMC (test management and control) framework for infrared blasters across IP platforms, including Roku, Xbox, Samsung TV, iOS, and Android; triaging for provisioning and billing in back-end and front-end user interfaces; using test management tools, including HPQC, Test Rail, Jira, and video troubleshooting; scripting test scenarios using user interface test creators and Python, Ruby, and Java; and in Quality Process training and performing quality audits for coding standards on scripts written in Python, Ruby, and Java.
