A-1 Excavating, Inc. is looking for a Contract Specialist/Project Coordinator to join our Team.

We are looking for an individual who is eager to be a part of a highly experienced and progressive company in the excavating and underground utility construction field.

The Contract Specialist/Project Coordinator is responsible for preparing information required to support all current and future projects. 

Areas of Responsibility:

• Project Contract Administration
• Project Management Support and Foreman Coordination
• Vendor and Subcontractor Relationships
• WIDOT, MNDOT and Lien Waiver Administration

Requirements:

• Education:

Required:  High School Diploma 

Desired:  Some college level accounting course; cost accounting, preferred

• Experience:

Required:  Four (4) years’ experience in the construction or contracting industry.

Desired:  Seven (7) years’ experience in the construction or contracting industry. Some field experience with and familiarity of phase codes used in construction management a plus.

• Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

Must display a professional attitude in carrying out the authority and responsibility of the position with integrity, accuracy, timeliness, and cooperation with other members of the management team. Must be comfortable establishing priorities, tactfully dealing with difficult situations and respecting the confidentiality of corporate, customer and personnel information.

Must possess above average technical writing and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with the owners, executive management, project management, estimators, administrative staff, construction craftspeople and external accounting and financial service providers.

Must have an excellent working knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing software as well as Windows.  Foundation Software experience is a plus.
