Nurses (RN and LPN)

RNs – Evening & Midnight Shifts

Works with a treatment team to assess and provide prescribed services for individuals with a psychiatric diagnosis. Administers patient's medication and follows all physician's orders in consultation with psychiatrist and in accordance with established hospital and licensing agency protocols. Provides education/explanation to patients, families, and co-workers regarding medication usage/maintenance, common side effects, patients’ rights, as well as other topics necessary for optimal patient care.

Graduation from an approved/accredited school of nursing. Current WV Registered Nurse license. Experience in psychiatric nursing preferred. Knowledge of and experience with psychotropic medications. Ability to work flexible hours. Must occasionally lift or assist with lifting patients and be able to move up to 100 pounds. Participates as necessary in the physical restraint of patients, responds appropriately to rapidly escalating patient situations and adapts to the many varied resultant physical posturings as learned in mandatory training. Must attend, participate and pass de-escalation and restraint training and retraining. Computer proficiency – ability to complete job duties utilizing various devices and software including Avatar (Medical Charting).

LPNs – Evening & Midnight Shifts

Provides direct and individualized nursing care to an assigned group of patients under the supervision of a registered professional nurse, while maintaining the assurance of patient safety at all times and following unit and hospital policies and procedures. Participates in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care, within the objectives, standards and policies of the department and within the parameters of the licensing board.

Graduation from an approved Licensed Practical Nursing Program. Current WV Practical Nurse License. Experience in psychiatric nursing preferred. Ability to work flexible hours. Must occasionally lift or assist with lifting patients and be able to move up to 100 pounds. Participates as necessary in the physical restraint of patients, responds appropriately to rapidly escalating patient situations and adapts to the many varied resultant physical posturings as learned in mandatory training. Must attend, participate and pass de-escalation and restraint training and retraining. Computer proficiency – ability to complete job duties utilizing various devices and software including Avatar (Medical Charting).

Must be able to pass drug screen and background checks.
