Cannabis Extraction Technician

Position Summary: This position is responsible for performing ethanol extractions, processing, clean-up, data entry, inventory management, and equipment maintenance.

Essential Functions:

  • Preparing necessary tools and equipment for extraction

  • Perform batch tracking and inventory updates

  • Use METRC, Leaf Link, and other inventory systems

  • Clean and maintain laboratory.

  • Maintain quality lab practices to ensure quality of extracts

  • Assist with any other lab duties as required by Management.

Job Specifications:

  • Ability to listen well and communicate effectively orally and in writing.

  • Knowledge and ability to use standard lab equipment; filling equipment, vacuum ovens, hot plates, extraction equipment, etc.

  • Ability to work effectively with employees, management, customers, governmental agencies, community members and the general public.

  • Must understand and comply with laboratory standards

  • Skilled in analyzing problems, identifying alternative solutions, projecting consequences of proposed actions, and implementing recommendations.

  • Ability to research, evaluate and adapt to new methods, compliance updates and techniques for operational improvement.

  • Ability to interpret, understand, and comply with complex statutes, ordinances, regulations, standards, and laws.

  • Ability to use standard office equipment, computer equipment and software including word processing, data base management, METRC, spreadsheet applications and electronic mail.

Additional Requirements:

  • Oregon driver’s license or State ID card

  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age

  • Must pass any and all required background checks

  • Must be and remain compliant with any and all legal or company regulations for working in the industry

  • Must have Marijuana Worker Permit

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Associates degree in chemistry or related science

  • 1-2 years’ experience in a cannabis laboratory setting

  • Ability to work independently, manage projects and meet deadlines

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered

Working Conditions:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.

  • The work for this position is performed in a laboratory setting and therefore is exposed to various temperatures and lighting on a daily/consistent basis.

  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to lift, carry and balance up to 50 pounds (200 pounds with assistance), may include sitting or standing for extended periods of time, as well as stooping, bending over and/or crouching.
