JOB SUMMARY: The Production Operator I is responsible for performing manual duties to process and complete product by operating equipment to mix, form and/or assemble metals and/or chemicals for distribution to Indium customers. Work is largely directed and work is performed under close or general supervision.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (COMPETENCIES):
• Observe all safety and security requirements
• Operate machines and/or other equipment for product processing, which may include any of the following: assembly, chemical additions, extrusion, and packaging functions
• May work with a variety of metals to melt and create casts

• Read and interpret drawings, diagrams with assistance as needed
• Complete required documentation to track work, record scrap, and maintain the accuracy of completed parts and inventory
• Uphold the standards necessary to maintain our business certifications and to maintain good quality standards and practices associated with them
• Sustain a steady work pace and follow a schedule
• May perform rework as needed
• Work with support tools, such as mics, gauges and/or unique testing equipment
• Produce quality product with minimal scrap
• Attend training as needed or assigned
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• 2 years related work experience at Indium; or
• 1 year related work experience at Indium and either 4+ years related outside work experience or deemed competent in at least 2 qualifying operations; or
• 5 years related outside work experience
• Specialized knowledge and the demonstrated ability to train others may be considered in lieu of length of work experience

Position Summary:
The Production Supervisor is responsible for the accurate and timely completion of job orders and for the assessment, training, oversight, mentoring, evaluation and discipline of a team of operators as they safely perform manual duties to process and complete quality product for timely distribution to Indium customers.
Responsibilities:
•Plan and schedule activities within area of supervision in collaboration with other departments
•Direct the activities and formally evaluate the individual performance of a team of Operators
•Maintain functional knowledge of processes within area of supervision and coordinate resources to ensure jobs are completed on time and in accordance with quality requirements

•Apply Lean manufacturing principles and promote continuous improvement in productivity and in the elimination of waste
•Demonstrate effective leadership and management skills to hire, promote, discipline, transfer, and terminate operators
•Assess Operator abilities, ensure appropriate training, determine competency, maintain training records and monitor Operator development
•Uphold all policies and procedures and resolve conflict
•Review and approve time management records
•Develop and maintain spreadsheets containing operational data and be well-versed in interpreting and presenting key performance metrics based on said data
•Uphold and promote the standards of Indium’s quality management system, including following procedures and work instructions, and recommending improvements
•Attend training as needed or assigned

Requirements:
•High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 3 years related work experience OR prior experience as an Indium Corporation Production Group Leader
•Associates degree preferred
