JOB SUMMARY: The Sr. Quality Engineer is responsible for leading initiatives to understand processes and to implement appropriate process controls ensuring that the quality of all Indium Corporation’s products meet customer requirements while supporting the growth, visions and values of Indium Corporation.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (COMPETENCIES):
- Organize and coordinate Quality Engineering activities with other functions to support quality objectives and QMS processes according to documented procedures
- Partner with technical support engineers, manufacturing engineers and operations staff to meet quality objectives
- Reduce process variation with DOE and data analysis methods, implementing data driven corrective actions
- Prepare and install process FMEA’s and control plans, incorporating the appropriate analysis and use of data based on findings from designed experiments • Prepare corrective actions using customer specified or 8D methodologies
- Document procedures per ISO9001, IATF16949, AS9100 and/or other relevant quality standards
- Support business plans goals and objectives; support manufacturing engineering and R&D with design and implementation of new products and /or technologies following an APQP process
- Coordinate the development and preparation of PPAP per customer requirements and industry standards
- Support company facilities with quality testing, planning processes and product validations
- Study, recommend and modify manufacturing processes with the objective of reducing operating expenses and improve yields
- Operate computer programs and statistical software to analyze data, report results, and draw data-driven conclusions
- Investigate, identify, recommend, install and maintain quality test equipment
- Identify, monitor and maintain quality metrics • Coordinate activities with other quality department staff
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver timely results
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a science-based technical discipline
- 5 years work experience in a quality or process engineering position • In-depth knowledge of SPC, PPAP, FMEA, and Six Sigma methodologies; ASQ Quality Engineer or Advanced Six Sigma Certification and Lean Manufacturing experience, preferred
- Proficiency in MS Office and software for DOE, SPC and data analysis
- Advanced math skills
- Proven ability to develop and implement testing methods with an emphasis on documenting detailed procedures
- Experienced in supporting internal and external customers regarding requests for technical assistance, quality inquiries and product testing
- Demonstrated ability to complete a wide variety of assignments in a manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated success at achieving objectives through participation in, or leadership of, functional or cross-functional work teams
- Detail oriented and highly organized
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
