Job Summary | The Operations Coordinator manages space and equipment scheduling to effectively allocate available resources in the Rensselaer Union, Playhouse, and related Union facilities. Utilizing the Event Management Software (EMS), the coordinator will prioritize the needs of groups competing for space and equipment and help to resolve conflicting scheduling needs within established guidelines. They will also manage building, key and equipment inventory including motor vehicles. Additionally, the coordinator will provide club, building operations, and project reporting. |

Job Summary | The Operations Specialist provides operational support for, oversees the day-to-day operations of, and serves as the first point of contact for the office of International Services for Students and Scholars (ISSS), and provides secondary support to the Office of International Programs (OIP). Job Summary | The Assistant Coach for Women's Ice Hockey assists the Head Coach in the management and administration of a Division I Hockey program. The core responsibilities of the Assistant Coach are to recommend, implement and execute a successful recruiting philosophy and strategy to ensure student-athletes are committed and engaged academically, athletically, and socially. Job Summary | The Sr. Alumni Engagement Officer is responsible for developing and implementing programs and activities with alumni. This position is responsible for encouraging life-long involvement and engagement with the Office of Alumni Engagement, Institute Advancement and Rensselaer. Job Summary | The Lally School of Management at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute seeks applications for a tenure-track (or tenured) faculty position at the Associate Professor level in Business Analytics/Supply Chain Management starting Fall 2024. Candidates must have a PhD degree from an accredited university in Analytics, Operations Research, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or a closely related field, along with demonstrated evidence to produce original and innovative scholarly work with publications in premier business journals. The successful candidate will join the School either as a tenure-track assistant professor, or as an associate professor, based on teaching and research experience and success. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated potential and commitment to effective teaching in our graduate and undergraduate degree programs in supply chain and business analytics, as well as provide service to the School of Management and to Rensselaer. The position requires excellence in research in the area of supply chain and analytics, effective written communication skills, and strong technical skills in areas such as analytical modeling, data management, machine learning and computation. Demonstrated interest in emerging technologies including artificial intelligence and Blockchain and in topics relevant to global shifts in supply chains would be a plus. Job Summary | The Department of Physics, Applied Physics, and Astronomy at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the field of Quantum Computing, Quantum Information, and Quantum Technology, with focus on the fundamental aspects or applications of quantum computation, scalability, and error correction on current and future quantum computing devices. Research areas can include but not limited to quantum entanglement, decoherence, and noise in quantum networks, with applications to quantum cryptography, quantum encryption, and secure quantum communications in noisy environments. Possible related areas would also include studying and exploiting the fundamental connections between Quantum Monte Carlo and Quantum Computing, simulating quantum field theory and many-body theory with a quantum computer (in particular, simulating systems with a “sign” problem), quantum communication networks, exotic quantum dynamics, quantum sensing protocols, exotic quantum phases of matter, and theory on the nature of information at the quantum level. With the anticipated of arrival of the IBM Quantum System One on our campus, this hire will have access to explore and implement some of these challenging problems. This hire would be part of a bold effort at RPI to strengthen and extend our current faculty cluster in Quantum Information, and would interact with our current faculty on quantum optics and photon entanglement, quantum field-theory, quantum fluctuations in networks, as well as with researchers from Computer Science, ECSE, Future of Computing Institute, and with the future hires of the recently announced Quantum Constellation. The position also represents a response to federal priorities expressed in the National Quantum Initiative Act. The successful candidate will establish/maintain and externally funded research program, participate in collaborative, multi-investigator research and research training initiatives, and contribute to the high impact teaching program in the Department of Physics, Applied Physics, and Astronomy. Postdoctoral research experience and a strong early record of publication in leading journals is preferred. Job Summary | As leader of the Media Relations function, the incumbent will be one of RPI’s chief storytellers. The ideal candidate will be pivotal in raising awareness of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute as an esteemed institution of academic excellence, groundbreaking research and global community influence and impact. The incumbent will build and lead a news team that develops and broadcasts relevant and engaging stories that advance the Institute in top tier national consumer media outlets and scholarly publications. The leader for media relations also directs all aspects of the university’s media relations program, supervises staff, provides strategic and sound media relations counsel to RPI leadership, and thought leaders, cultivates strong relationships with members of the media, and serves as a university spokesperson. |
Requirements | Hiring may be at the level of an Associate Vice President or Assistant Vice President, depending on the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate. All candidates must have a bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) in journalism or mass communications, or a public relations degree from a journalism program. A master’s degree is preferred. All candidates must be proficient with current technology and be superb communicators both orally and in writing, and have a deep understanding of issues relating to higher education, research, and the communities in which RPI operates. Assistant Vice President candidates must also have five (5) or more years of work experience, during which they will have demonstrated fluency in high-level news writing and AP style, a history of exhibiting sound editorial judgement. Experience must include at least three (3) years working in a media relations leadership position in a higher education or comparable setting Candidates must have experience in leading a team and a demonstrated comfort level interacting with senior level officials in a professional setting. At the Assistant VP level, candidates are expected to have had some experience in handling the press, issues and crisis management, and/or running external PR agencies. As Associate Vice President, candidates will meet all the criteria listed above, and will have a proven expertise in strategic media relations. An Associate VP candidate will be an experienced leader who has a history of successfully aligning their team's activities with institute goals. Candidates at this level will have broad experience across all media relations functions, including crises and issues management, press management, and managing PR consultants. Relevant combinations of education, training and experience may be considered. |
