Strategic Account Manager in Government and Education - Spectrum

The Highlights
The Strategic Account Manager for Government and Education is responsible for managing dedicated market accounts. In this field-based position you will focus on the protection and growth of existing revenues through proactively managing client relationships.
What you will do
  • Serve as client advocate within their fast-growing business
  • Develop client-centric solutions highlighting product benefits
  • Facilitate face-to-face meetings to pursue renewal opportunities
  • Deliver proposals to promote new revenue
  • Consistently achieve or exceed sales and revenue quotas
  • Maintain client database
  • Establish data control procedures and work with regulatory agencies as needed
  • Collaborate with others to resolve issues and enhance the client's experience
  • Attend training to remain current on pricing, order entry and commission reports
  • Assist with account collections when necessary
  • Carry out other duties as needed
Required keys for success
  • Five or more years of experience with strategic sales or account management
  • Three or more years of experience in state/local government and/or education
  • Proven sales record, meeting $2,500 monthly quota
  • Skills to quickly conduct cost analysis and provide recommendations
  • Ability to identify and cultivate market opportunities
  • Aptitude to participate as a collaborative team member
  • Ability to multitask and manage change
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, ICOMS/CSG or other billing systems
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Visio
  • Effective communication skills
How you will stand out from the crowd
  • Three or more years of industry experience in business-to-business sales, including prospecting calls and premises-based sales
  • Familiarity with the product suite: data, voice and video- or cloud solutions
  • Motivation from commission-based model
  • Deadline-driven nature in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Confidence in communicating technical information to high-level clients
  • Positive attitude with strong presentation skills
  • Coachable disposition, with entrepreneurial spirit and ability to work independently
Your education
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Bachelor's degree in business-related field (preferred)
