Northeast Parent & Child Society invites applications for per-diem Respite Providers for our Hourly External Respite Program in the greater Capital Region. The area of service need includes, but is not limited to: Albany, Columbia, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Warren County, and Washington County.
Respite services are provided in the community to children who may be experiencing various struggles at home, school, and/ or in the community. Respite includes Hourly Respite and Skill Building services. Hourly Respite activities are chosen based on the child’s treatment goals and individual strengths and interests. Skill Building services work on developing activities to increase children’s specific skills to be successful in the home and community. These skills include daily living, social skills, self-advocacy, age appropriate developmental tasks, job coaching, and other identified treatment goals.
Respite may be available to foster, kinship, and adoptive families, as well as birth families in need of support.
Work Schedule: Per Diem/Flexible; Days/Evenings/Weekends
- GED or High School Diploma;
- reliable transportation; valid NYS driver's license;
- experience working with children who have mental health, behavioral health, and/ or emotional challenges required;
- Must possess solid computer skills for entering Medicaid-compliant paperwork;
- must be at least 21 years of age
