Fire Protection Tech - Commercial Kitchen Exhaust Cleaning
We are rapidly growing and in search of motivated individuals looking to begin a career in fire protection. This position has great growth potential where the right person will work their way up to Lead Technician. No experience? No problem - we are willing to train the right person. Mechanical aptitude, experience working with a pressure washer and the ability to learn quickly are considered assets.
We offer paid training shifts where you will learn the basics of Commercial Kitchen Exhaust Cleaning. After three months, you'll get a pay raise and can begin working toward certification. Motivated individuals could become certified within 6 months and with that also comes with another pay raise.
As a fire protection technician we are responsible for the regular maintenance of commercial kitchen exhaust systems. This pertains to the safe guarding of property, environment and public safety. Our job is to provide a regular maintenance schedule which entails the removal of the grease that accumulates in the kitchen's exhaust system from the cooking process.
Employee's are required to arrive at the scheduled job site by their own means or by pre-arranging a ride with the lead hand who is responsible to bring the company vehicle to the job site which contains the necessary tools and equipment.
Upon arrival to a regular job site our work procedures consist of the preparation of all sections of the kitchens exhaust system for the cleaning process. Our goal is to remove as much if not all of the combustible grease deposits within the system.
Our job is to clean out and inspect the kitchens hoods, filters, duct work and exhaust fans. Having completed the service the technician will place his certification stamp on the inspection sticker and place it on the hood for further inspection purposes; for either the Fire Marshal, Health Inspector, Insurance provider etc.

- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Work hours typically range from 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM. (Start times vary)
- Job sites are throughout the Fraser Valley and Lower Mainland, and occasionly up to Whistler (with additional compensation and hotel provided).

Tickets needed which can be obtained after hire:
- Fall Safety
- Ladder Safety
- $18 an hour to start on probationary period with raise after 3 months
- Lots of opportunity for advancement: Lead Hands earn $25 – 32 depending on experience and ability
