Building Maintenance Mechanic

Town of Wilna Housing Authority

 

Building Maintenance Mechanic:   40 hours per week, M-F 7:00-3:30 Lunch 12:00-12:30

Must have valid NYS Driver’s License

 

This position does take on call for our 24 hour emergency maintenance on a rotating schedule.

 

Duties Include but not limited to:

  • Carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC work as needed 
  • Painting, cleaning and turning over of units upon move out 
  • Responsible for all interior and exterior work on buildings
  • Must be able to lift over 50 lbs
  • Snow removal, mowing and trimming as needed 
  • Must be able to operate plow truck, skid steer, Bob Cat Tool Cat and zero turn mower
  • Maintain equipment as needed and keep detailed records of maintenance performed
  • Complete work orders for repair in tenant units
  • Communicate issues with office staff
  • Must be able to work well with residents
  • Work with office staff on scheduling and status of unit turnovers
  • Completes unit inspections with office staff
  • Document work completed in a timely manner to provide to office staff
  • Inventory materials as needed
  • Completes preventative maintenance as needed
