Inside Sales Rep / Business Development Rep

Job Summary:

Inside Sales Rep / Business Development Representatives are responsible for sourcing, generating and building new business opportunities for the company through cold calling, emails and following up on warm leads.   This role is the first point of contact with the prospective customer.  The Inside Sales Rep / Business Development Representative must have the native sales skills to build a pipeline of qualified new prospects and deliver, or to be trained to deliver, effective presentations and product demonstrations.  Successful candidates are able to manage and further their relationship with a prospect from lead-inception to close. Successful candidates are expected to work with Autotask team members at all levels to collaborate and enhance the opportunity for a sale, including but not limited to working with their Field Sales Manager to schedule appointments and close larger-volume sales.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for achieving monthly sales objectives / quotas and weekly activity metrics.
  • Prospect for and identify new account opportunities to build a robust pipeline; involves a fair amount of cold calling and quickly moving the prospect through the company’s pre-qualification process.
  • Deliver effective presentations and manage the customer relationship from lead-inception to deal-close via telesales, internet-based tools (WebEx) and occasional face-to-face networking opportunities.
  • Proactively sell to decision-makers of leading Managed Service Providers (MSPs) in the emerging and intermediate marketplace.
  • Provide the Field Sales Manager on your team with larger qualified leads, schedule meetings/product demonstrations, send supporting literature and follow up on quotations/contracts, as needed.
  • Provide follow-up to inquiries from Website requests/downloads, Webinars, Tradeshows, and other Marketing programs
  • Employees may be required to perform other related duties as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Educated to Bachelors - degree level.
  • High level of drive and confidence; show demonstrated results in everything you do
  • Strong initiative and a proactive attitude to driving new business with passion for IT and commercial awareness
  • Excellent communication skills include being able to articulate value propositions to customers in a logical & persuasive manner, question & listening skills to uncover needs and ensure understanding, writing skills to respond to prospects and maintain accurate customer records in CRM system
  • Excellent presentation and interaction skills with the ability to read, or demonstrate the need to motivate, others.
  • Must possess a positive, professional phone demeanor.
  • Must have strong aptitude for learning and be self-motivated in a high-opportunity, fast-paced environment.
  • Outgoing individual who is Team Player, able to work productively with a wide range of colleagues
  • Experience communicating with customers through the phone or face-to-face, selling inbound and/or outbound telemarketing / telesales /sales experience a plus
  • Be able and willing to travel up to 20% of the time.
