Recreation Therapist
Certified Recreation Therapists are eligible for $1000 signing bonus!
As a Recreation Therapist, you will support Residential Treatment Facility clients recreation needs during intake and treatment. You will report to the Director of Therapeutic Recreation and you will work onsite, with some flexibility for remote work.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct therapeutic recreational assessments of residents to support the preparation and implementation of treatment plans (14-day and monthly Treatment Reviews).Consult with RTF team members regarding recreation activity planning, design, implementation, and evaluation
- Organize, facilitate, and support therapeutic recreational activities for individual clients and for groups
- Maintain contact with community recreational resources to support recreational needsand activities
- Maintain RTF recreational facilities and supplies; schedule use
- Ensure that therapeutic recreational services comply with JCAHO, COA, IOC,and OMH standards
- Complete all documentation requirements, including Rec Assessments; Individual/GroupProgress Note; Permission Packets.
- Maintain the family/guardians connection and involvement with the child during the RTF stay
- Involve the family in every aspect of the treatment and discharge process
- Coordinate with RTF treatment staff regarding the family'sprogress, the child'streatment plan and the planning for therapeutic home visits
Schedule/Shift:
- Tuesday - Saturday
- 12:00pm - 8:00pm, Thursdays are 9:00am-5:00pm
- Weekend shift hours can be flexible
Requirements and Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Recreation, Counseling, Outdoor Education or related field
- CTRS or eligible
- 2 or more years of related experience
- Must pass the required physical.
- Must be able to complete TCI training.

These interventions, provided by telephone and on-site mobile visits, will be implemented using a strength-based, trauma-informed, systems-oriented perspective and will include the development of crisis prevention and safety plans; follow-up to evaluate the effectiveness of plans; coordination of services with existing treatment providers; and linkage to additional community-based therapeutic resources and supports. - Provide rapid response to adults, children, adolescents, and families, who are in crisis, experiencing an emotional or behavioral disturbance by phone and on-site within the community, and as assigned, participate in acute care emergency services rotation system designed to facilitate and strengthen community-based crisis intervention services. As a Clinician, you will work as part of an interdisciplinary team with the underserved populations in our community by providing clinical counseling to individuals, families and couples in an outpatient mental health clinic licensed by the New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH). Starting rate is $20 per hour!Ideal seasonal position with flexible schedule from Memorial Day to Labor Day weekend. Daytime and early evening hours on weekdays and/or weekends.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

Compensation
The rate for this position is $18.90 per hour. Except for roles with a set rate of pay, the wage/salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Work Days: Monday-Friday with occasional nights and weekends
Shift Start/End Time: Facilities positions are 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m with some flexibility. Events position shifts vary between the hours of 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Hours Per Week: 25-30. Hours will vary each week based on the business need.
Weeks Per Year: This is a temporary position beginning immediately. The weeks per year vary based on the business need.
Temp Summer Assistants - Facilities (6 positions) and Events (6 positions)
Pay Status and Classification: Non-exempt, Temporary. This is a summer position (8-10 weeks).
Work Location: This position is an on-site role.
Supervisor: Director of Special Events and Conferences or Assistant Director of Facilities - Business Manager
Position Purpose: Supports Facilities Services in preparing, planning and executing summer events and conferences at the College.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Event Support: Participates in planning meetings and/or events which includes but not limited to supporting location assignments, food orders, transportation arrangements, audio/visual orders, creation of signage and room diagrams. Attends and monitors events for summer conferences.
- Administrative Support: Manages room assignments thru scheduling software. Ensures all residence halls and other facilities are properly prepared; provides customer support where needed. Attends and monitors events for Summer conferences. Creates and assigns work orders. Manages office paperwork and files. Processes invoices.
Qualifications:
- Prior customer service or event support experience highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of safety rules and regulations.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Effective computer skills and ability to use and learn new software quickly.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team atmosphere.
- Ability to lift moderately heavy items (up to 50 lbs.), and stand, bend and stoop for extended periods of time.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends based on the business need.
- The ability to foster and enhance a thriving, diverse, inclusive, and culturally vibrant community, while promoting a sense of belonging among students, faculty and staff colleagues, and alumni.
- Able to anticipate, deliver on, and exceed the expectations of faculty, students, and colleagues.

Compensation
The rate for this position is $15.00 - $16.00 per hour. Except for roles with a set rate of pay, the wage/salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training.
